This post is a little different from the usual; but I thought it would be nice to share some of the homeware items I've acquired recently for uni with you all, and maybe give you some ideas if you're wanting to jazz up what will no doubt be a pretty drab room in halls! My main ports of call so far have been Ikea, Dunelm Mill and Wilkinson's as they're all reasonably cheap. I haven't gone with any particular theme or colour scheme; all I know is that I want my room to be a really bright, cheerful, happy place in which to chill and study. I'm studying English Lit, so I know I'll be spending a lot of time in there! 

Cushions are one of my favourite things, so I really enjoyed picking out some bright prints that will compliment the duvet covers I've chosen. I also really want my room to be covered in photos of friends and family from home, so I think I've printed about 50 using Boots' online service. It's so cheap and easy to do through them; I think when you first sign up you get 20 prints free, so they only cost me about £3 in total! So worth it. I'll probably put some in frames, pin some to my notice board and then maybe hang some string bunting-style around the edges of the ceiling and peg photos to that, too.

As well as pretty things to jazz up my room, my mum and I have been out and bought plenty of storage boxes, cutlery, utensils, saucepans...you name it I've got it! I don't know about any of you, but I had absolutely no idea how much stuff I would need to buy before going to uni! It's been fun getting everything ready though, and I'm getting to a stage now where I'm just itching to go. I might do a few more posts on my getting ready for uni 'journey' (cringe but I can't think of a better word)!
