lessons in layering

H&M JACKET & BOOTS // SHE INSIDE GILET* // IN LOVE WITH FASHION T-SHIRT* // YAYER JEANS* // MANGO BAG
Yes, the sun has indeed come out and Spring has started to rear it's happiness-inducing head, but I'm still clinging on to any last vestiges of winter dressing that I can whilst it's still acceptable (it is only early March, after all). This fur gilet layered over my trusty biker jacket is the perfect example of such dressing, with the distinct lack of sleeve making it just about as transitional as a furry piece of outerwear is going to get! The jeans, however, are slightly more suitable for the imminent Spring climate, with the light mottled wash and slightly loose fit making them the perfect piece for anyone looking to channel the nineties trend. I think I may actually prefer these Yayer jeans to the fit of the Topshop 'Mom' jeans as they're just a tad skinnier around the ankle! What do you think?

hyper holographic

CHOIES COAT* // FOREVER 21 TOP (similar, in fact better) // VINTAGE JEANS // ASOS SLIP-ONS (similar)// NEW LOOK CLUTCH // ACCESSORIZE NECKLACE
Holographic shoes. Hell to the yeah. So glad I got my hands on a pair of these beauties before they sold out on ASOS the other week! This shoe/clutch combo has definitely been my go-to accessory duo over the last two weeks or so, and I pretty much wear them with everything even if they don't go because I'm utterly obsessed. The two were just made for each other.
These jeans were one of the gems I picked up at the Blogger Swap Shop hosted by VoucherCodes last week; you may have seen me Instagramming some photos from the event (@amymacee)! It was such a fun night: copious amounts of free cocktails were thoroughly enjoyed, and best of all I managed to get my hands on some gratuitous garms which is never a bad thing. I'd been wanting to try out the whole distressed jeans thing for a while but wasn't sure if I'd like it, so the event provided the perfect opportunity to tread the trend's waters without actually having to take the plunge and purchase a pair (great metaphor, eh?). Keep your eyes peeled for the rest of my Swap Shop stash which will no doubt make its way onto here in dribs and drabs over the next few weeks! For now though, it's time for me to go downstairs, dust off the Jif Lemon, and eat as many pancakes as humanly possible.
