purple rain

AMERICAN APPAREL SHIRT // OASAP SKIRT* // MANGO BAG // ADIDAS SUPERSTAR II's
I wore this outfit last night for drinks in Camden with my friend Rachel. We went to 55 Bar for happy hour cocktails, 2 for £10, and they were so so good I would highly recommend it! The mojitos and frozen daiquiris are to die for. It's on the same street as Wagamama's, Yo Sushi and Byron, right by Camden Lock. I don't think a more ideal location exists! The night ended with shisha and chinese food, because it wouldn't be a night in Camden unless both of these things were involved! Where are your favourite places to drink and chill in London?

MISSGUIDED DRESS* // MONKI BOOTS (reaaally similar) // H&M BRACELETS // OASAP BAG*
Just a quick one before I go to bed and try and squeeze in two hours sleep before I'm up at 1am to get a flight! Me and the girls are going on holiday tomorrow and I am literally SO excited. I can't wait to chill on the beach, top up my tan and rave all night long.

I wore this outfit to a house party at my friends' last night. The dress is the perfect length, and I can always rely on these boots to see me through a long night out with minimal pain. I just can't seem to hack massive heels unless it's a proper 'do'. They look fab, but I love my feet too much to put them through that torture. Here's to forever wishing that trainers were acceptable at smart/casual occasions!

See you when I'm back!

america haul

So as I mentioned in yesterday's post, I spent the last two and a bit weeks in Florida on holiday with my family and our friends. We had such an amazing time and managed to cram so many things into our time there. We did pretty much all of the stereotypical Orlando things and went on more roller coasters than I can count, and of course in between all of the craziness we squeezed in plenty of shopping! I had a list of things that I knew I wanted to buy out there, and had saved up A LOT beforehand to make sure that I could fund my shopaholic tendencies. Seriously though, when you're out there and you're being told that a Michael Kors purse is going to cost you the equivalent of £60, how can you resist? We were also really lucky in that the exchange rate was amazing when we went!

Pictured above are just a few of the main bits that I bought - there are also a few things that I didn't take photos of, like a pair of white Converse (only $45!!), a few more makeup/beauty bits from MAC and Sephora that I totally forgot about, and the multiple items of underwear that I bought in Victoria's Secret (once again, SO CHEAP). I am in no way a beauty blogger, but I would like to take this opportunity to say that the MAC Paint Pots in 'Bare Study' and 'Painterly', the Anastasia DipBrow and the Duo Eyelash Glue have all changed my life! As has the iPad - it's the handiest little thing ever, and I know it's going to be invaluable at uni!

Have any of you been to the US recently? What bargains did you get? I'd love to hear!

new in: accessories

TOPSHOP METALLIC BUMBAG // H&M STATEMENT NECKLACE // TOPSHOP BRACELETS (sale) // TOPSHOP CHOKER // TOPSHOP CHARM NECKLACES // OASAP SUNGLASSES*
I've done just a little bit of shopping this week (see my Instagram for more photo evidence, @amymacee), so I thought I'd share some of my new pieces with you. I've basically been trying to update my wardrobe in time for my holiday to Florida next week, because I suddenly realised that none of my clothes were suitable for hot weather! A quick trip to Oxford Street and a few internet orders later and I'm pretty much sorted wardrobe-wise.. now I just want to get there!

prom

MY OUTFIT: RIVER ISLAND SKIRT & SHOES // ASOS TOP // ACCESSORIZE NECKLACE & BRACELETS  // MISSGUIDED CLUTCH*
Last night definitely marked the end of an era, as I attended my school's Year 13 leavers' prom. It feels so weird and scary to think that last night was probably the last time that I'll see most of the people from my year! Having said that, I cannot wait for uni in September! School and sixth form were great, but I'm definitely ready for a big change. It was a really fun night, and I'm sure you'll agree that the girls looked amazing. After some last minute changes, multiple ASOS orders and the arrival of this beaut Missguided clutch last week I was eventually really happy with the way my outfit turned out. Full length dresses just weren't doing it for me so I opted for this amazing River Island midi instead, and I'm so glad I did! Not only was it perfect for prom, but there's also the added bonus of being able to wear separates again - I'm forever looking to bring down that cost-per-wear haha! Have any of you got proms coming up? What are you planning on wearing? Let me know in the comments!

awkward length trousers

BOOHOO CULOTTES // FRONT ROW SHOP DUSTER COAT* // SHEINSIDE TOP* // RIVER ISLAND SLIP-ONS // PRIMARK BAG (similar)
I never thought I'd go for culottes, but I can now confirm that I'm a convert. They're definitely an awkward length, but this only adds to their charm! This Boohoo pair were such a steal at just £20, and go perfectly with my new navy duster. Dusters are definitely a bit of a wardrobe staple, and despite being lightweight enough for S/S wear, I'm hoping that this Front Row Shop number will last me well into winter. I'd definitely recommend a browse of Front Row Shop if you haven't shopped there before - they stock so many stunning staple pieces that are so wearable, yet still a little bit different from your run-of-the-mill basics. I'm loving this kimono and these high-waisted peg trousers at the moment!

a busy tuesday in the city

I WORE: ILFW COAT* // SHEINSIDE SKIRT* // MISSGUIDED TOP* // ADIDAS STAN SMITH'S
Evening all! So I'm back on the blogging thing again after a little exam-induced hiatus. But now A Levels are well and truly DONE and I'm a free agent, so blog posts will be flying your way from here on out over the summer!

Today was a busy one! I popped into London for the In Love With Fashion DIY Day with Sarah, Gemma and Heidi, which was followed by Dune's AW14 press day and then a little shop and a delicious banoffee cupcake at Lola's in Selfridges. If you haven't tried one yet, then do it asap! The DIY event was such a laugh; we customised a pair of vintage Levi's each (which will be available for you to buy on the site soon! how exciting), and drank plenty of champers (which I managed to spill everywhere in classic Amy style). The Dune press day was also thoroughly enjoyable - the collection is absolutely to die for, with lots of metallics, snakeskin, bright faux fur clutches and of course the minimal, leather classics that Dune do so well. The silver metallic slip-ons shown above were definitely one of my favourite pieces. Check out my Twitter & Instagram (links below) for more photos!
