dizzying new heights

SKIRT - TOPSHOP // TOP - TOPSHOP // BELT - H&M // NECKLACE - TOPSHOP // CONVERSE - ASOS // SOCKS - TOPSHOP // WATCH - CASIO via AMAZON
I really never thought I'd be caught dead in a midi skirt, but today that all changed! I bought the classic Topshop double-layer midi a few weeks ago, and finally gave it it's first outing yesterday. At the moment the only shoes I'm liking with it are these Converse; they make the whole ensemble a lot more casual and therefore a lot more me! But I may branch out even further into creeper territory soon, who knows. I'm already considering buying the grey version because it's so thick and soft and comfortable, and there's no danger of any Marilyn-Monroe-esque faux pas!
In other news, I FINALLY got an iphone this weekend so will be instagramming like a good'un from here on in (before, I only had it on ipad)! Be sure to follow me @amymacee

So, what do you think about my first tentative step into midi territory?

denim dungarees

DUNGAREES - ASOS MARKETPLACE // BLOUSE - POP COUTURE* // WATCH - CASIO via AMAZON // BELT - H&M // CREEPERS - UNDERGROUND via EBAY
I've wanted a pair of denim dungarees for what feels like forever, so when I got my hands on this vintage pair from ASOS Marketplace I was a little more than chuffed! They're the exact wash, fit and length that I was after, and I couldn't wait to style them up for a post. I'm pretty certain that dungarees are going to big this summer, and will look so great with bare legs and a cropped tee underneath, or a bikini on the beach. For the slightly more English weather, I paired mine with this lovely monochrome blouse from Pop Couture. It's a size S and is very fitted, so if you wanted it to be a little more over-sized then definitely go for a M or L. I like the way it smartens up the slightly grungier creepers and faded denim, and it's a really nice piece to throw on if you're looking to tick that monochrome box!

What do you think of the dungarees? Will you be investing in a pair this summer?
Also, I launched a giveaway yesterday where you can win yourself the very first 'Miss Glossybox' - click here to enter.

the very first 'miss glossybox' & a giveaway

MISS GLOSSYBOX CONTAINS: Amie Spring Clean Cooling Clay Mask, So...? Dry Shampoo in Va Va Volume, Molly Mabel Pop Band, 2True Glitterati Nail Polish Shade 6, Beauty UK Eye Pencil, Eye Rock Eye Tattoos, and a lolly!
When Glossybox got in touch about the launch of a new 'Young Beauty' box, I was extremely intrigued to say the least! It's an additional venture inspired by the younger generation of beauty fans and, similar to it's older counterpart, contains a variety of different products; the ones in this box are much more affordable, from some of the brands I used to love when I first started purchasing makeup; 2True, BeautyUK, and many more that will be revealed in future boxes! I jumped at the chance of posting about it, because I know a lot of my readers are younger so I thought it may well appeal to some of you.
I haven't tried all of the products yet, but my initial thoughts are that this box is absolutely perfect for anyone looking to experiment and have fun with their makeup. The brands included are affordable, easily available and are perfect for younger teens. Also, a Miss Glossybox subscription, or even just a one off box, would make a great present for younger sisters, cousins or friends; I would have loved to have received something like this a couple of years ago! They've included some handy essentials that I'll definitely be using, but nothing too 'out there' for younger girls which I think is really great, so all in all I'm impressed!
Miss Glossybox launched on the 22nd April and is available to order online now - you can get it delivered to you bi-monthly for just £7. You can also enter my giveaway below to win yourself one! The competition ends next Thursday 2nd May - good luck!

moc croc

JUMPER - CHOIES* // RIDING PANTS - AMERICAN APPAREL // TRAINERS - CONVERSE via ASOS // NECKLACE - NEW LOOK // WATCH - CASIO via AMAZON // BAG - TOPSHOP via NEXT2NOWT
Received this lurrvley jumper from Choies last week; a brand that I've seen popping up a lot on blogs recently. I find that some of these sorts of sites can be really hit and miss quality-wise but if this jumper is anything to go by, there's nothing to worry about with Choies! It's amazing quality, so so comfortable, and is such a lovely shape and fit. I really like the split-side thing that it's got going on, and the monochrome keeps it nicely on trend. I've teamed it with my favourite bag from Next2Nowt; I've mentioned them before but basically they sell loads of hugely discounted items from famous high street names like Topshop - they've currently got one of these bags in stock here for a fraction of the RRP, and have loads of Adonis2's in at the moment; just type 'Adonis2' in the search bar to see all the sizes. I'm also wearing my new Converse platforms which you can see a better photo of in my last post. They're so comfortable and are easily my favourite pair of shoes at the moment!

In other news, I got tickets to see Mumford and Sons yesterday; I'm so excited because I've never been able to get them before. Dream come true!

outfit & motel a/w press day

BOUCLE JACKET - NEW LOOK // SHIRT - ASOS // JEANS - TOPSHOP 'JONI' // JEFFREY CAMPBELLS - SOLE // NECKLACES - TOPSHOP & JEWELRHI // SOCKS - TOPSHOP

It's probably old news to most of you now that Motel had a blogger's preview of their A/W collection last Wednesday. I was lucky enough to get invited along, and despite being SO NERVOUS about meeting loads of bloggers and being totally out of my depth, I actually really enjoyed myself. Shope and Shore from London's Closet were really welcoming; I also had a chance to chat to Chelsea, Laura, Lucy, Arabella (fangirled slightly) and a bunch of other lovely bloggers! I don't feel like it went too badly as a first attempt at press days, and I hope I wasn't too shy! The new pieces from Motel are fab - there was a lovely mesh crop top in the evening wear section that I was eyeing up, as well as some really cool tie-dye jumpers and things that looked so 90's! My favourite piece from the rails was the denim babydoll dress pictured above. It's actually available to purchase online right now, so I'll definitely have to snap that one up asap!
I wore my new New Look boucle jacket that I now absolutely love; it has little neon flecks in it which I thought were pretty cool; and I actually opted for creepers instead of my Litas simply because I didn't want to humiliate myself by falling flat on my face! I thought I'd go just go for simplicity and comfort to avoid any malfunctions!

On another note, what are your thoughts on the new spruced up layout/design of my blog? I gave it a quick update the other night (when I say quick, it did literally take the whole night) because I fancied a change, and would love to know what you think!

rimmel lycra pro nail varnishes

RIMMEL LONDON LYCRA PRO PROFESSIONAL FINISH NAIL VARNISHES
CAMOUFLAGE CHIC/AQUA COOL/TREND SPOTTING/RUBY ME/FRENCH MANICURE
I'm not normally one for writing beauty reviews but I just had to share my favourite nail polish range with you now that I feel I've got a sufficient amount of them in my collection! The Rimmel Lycra Pro range is one that I rarely hear about in the beauty blogging world, but that seriously deserves some high praise if you ask me. One of the best things about them is the 'maxi brush', that is the perfect size and shape to make application so so quick and easy; I haven't come across a brush nearly as good as this one from any other brand/range. The nail varnishes are also extremely glossy and among the most long lasting ones I've tried - the colour dries quick, doesn't fade, and with a topcoat is pretty much chip-less for a good few days. Basically I cannot sing the praises of this range enough, and all my recent nail polish purchases have been Lycra Pro! The range is available from Boots for only £4.79 so they are really affordable - if you haven't given them a go yet, then make sure you do. I'm currently wearing Aqua Cool and it is absolutely beautiful and I've had so many compliments; the French Manicure shade also looks lovely after a few coats and with lashings of glitter on top.
Also, just as a little disclaimer, I did buy all of these myself and haven't been sponsored by Rimmel to write this; I just wanted to share my thoughts with you because Lycra Pro is the way forward.

Have you ever tried the Rimmel Lycra Pro range? Do you think you'll give them a try after reading this post?

white lace tee

TOP - ASOS // JEANS - MISS SELFRIDGE // NECKLACES - TOPSHOP // CLUTCH - PRIMARK // WATCH - CASIO // JEFFREY CAMPBELL'S - SOLETRADER
Say hello to my new all-time favourite top ever that was a recent purchase from ASOS when they were offering 25% off for students. I love it so so much, and I cannot wait to throw it on over a bikini on the beach this summer, or layer it up over a pair of high waisted denim short and these trainers (which I WILL buy soon). I wore this outfit on my birthday which was on Wednesday - I had a lovely day out shopping with my mum, and then me and some friends went for a meal in Cafe Pacifico in Covent Garden in the evening (best Mexican food in London, so if you like Mexican then you HAVE to go). And yes, I braved heels even on the cobbled streets of Covent Garden.
Tomorrow I'm going into London for a little shopping spree, just because there are so many things I want to buy and seeing as it's just been my birthday I FINALLY have some money to spend! Cannot wait to have a bit of a splurge. Apart from that it's just been revision revision revision, but I'm going to a Motel event on Wednesday which I'm uber excited for. Are any of you going?

xoxo

my asos 'save for later' basket

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
I'm sure it's no secret to you guys that I love me a bit of ASOS, so I thought I'd unashamedly steal Tiger's idea and do a post on what's currently in my 'Saved for Later' basket (her blog is amazing by the way, make sure you check it out). I actually compiled this collage about a week ago and the basket has grown considerably since then to include lots of beautiful things including this, this and this - I can tell that any day now I'm just going to cave and end up getting it all!
Also, here's another quick reminder that I'm selling a bunch of stuff on Ebay if you fancy a browse! Click here to see all my listed items.
