painting it red

JUMPER - NEW LOOK/SHORTS - NEW LOOK/SHIRT - PRIMARK/BELT - TOPSHOP/SOCKS - ACCESSORIZE/DR MARTINS - CLOGGS
Wore this little ensemble the other day for yet another sales raid with my mum. We were going to venture up to London, but after the incidents on Oxford Street (coupled with our general laziness) we just went to a shopping centre not too far from us. We had a really lovely day, which was topped off nicely by the Nandos we had once we were utterly shopped out - it was my mum's first time in there, scandal!
I'm really feeling the whole preppy, slightly androgynous thing at the moment, hence the collar and grandad jumper! I actually bought this gem in the New Look sale the other day (found some great things in there recently ~shocker~) and it was only £16 reduced from £25 or something like that. It matches perfectly with my Docs and I really love it - prepare to be bored at the sight of this jumper by the end of January!
The belt was another sale find - it's real leather with this lovely vintagey-floral pattern on it (didn't have time to take close-ups but will do in a future post)! It was £5 reduced from £23 and I think it would've been rude not to buy it with that price tag, don't you agree?
Lastly, just needed to mention these creepers from Linzi shoes because I was tweeting various people about them last night and I am literally in love. Hands up if you think it would be rude not to buy these too?!

the christmas presents post

I know I'm a little late on the bandwagon with this one, but I've finally got around to posting my Christmas presents. I haven't shown you everything, only my favourite bits and pieces; my docs (of course), the huge Soap and Glory set that I think just about everyone got, some new headphones (thank you brother), a fur stole from Topshop, the Chloe perfume set, my favourite mascara, some body shop body scrub, the Tommy Hilifiger perfume and a gorgeous nail polish by Revlon called Facets of Fuchsia. I'm sure I've missed out some things because most of my presents are put away now so I just had a quick look around and grabbed what I could remember for the photos! I of course got the obligatory pyjamas, socks, chocolate and some other makeup/beauty/bath bits, but these are the things that I loved the most.
If any of you have done similar posts, please leave the links in the comments because I love being nosy.
Must go now, because the girls are coming around and I desperately need to tidy my room..

the obligatory Christmas post

~lolz at the 'christmas' hovering above the star, bloody print screening~
Made this absolute beauty of a festive collage on Polyvore - another addition to the plethora of websites on which I spend waste my time! I'm thinking of joining Tumblr too, what do you think? Do any of you have Tumblrs?
So today I was planning on doing an outfit post, but the weather just doesn't want to cooperate. It has been on/off raining all day, and even when the rain stopped it was way too dark for photos, so being the perfectionist that I am I decided to just give it a miss!
I've actually had such a lovely day - watched Peter Pan, the Lion King in 3D, and last night's Made in Chelsea Christmas episode (SPENCE & CAGS FINALLY DID IT YAY), and just finished wrapping all my family's Christmas presents. I'm actually so pleased with what I bought everybody - sometimes my heart just isn't in it, but I really feel as if I've done alright this year (thank you to Libby on Twitter who gave me the idea for my mum's little Christmas 'hamper')!
This will be my last post until after Christmas (but I will be on Twitter if you care enough to follow my Christmassy antics), so I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! I hope you all have a wonderful, festive, food-fueled weekend! I also want to thank you all for taking the time to read/follow my blog. I wasn't sure how people would take to it and was worried that it wouldn't be as 'successful' as my previous one ismellfashion (even though that wasn't exactly famous!), but I've had a better response than I could ever have imagined, and almost have 100 followers after only a number of weeks which makes me so happy. I can't wait to continue posting throughout 2012, and lets see where my little blog can take me!
MERRY CHRISTMAS,

Amy

hear my roar

TOP - TOPSHOP/JEANS - TOPSHOP/CARDIGAN - PRIMARK/SCARF - PRIMARK/BELT - FOREVER 21/NECKLACE - H&M/RINGS - MATALAN AND H&M/CONVERSE - OFFICE
Have to be quick today, because I'm going out to meet my friend and see Sherlock Holmes 2! I haven't seen the first one so it will be interesting to see if I understand what's going on.. but never mind, it's the socializing that I look forward to!
This is quite a casual outfit for me - I never tend to just go for jeans and a cardie but sometimes  needs must. Some may say this is a little bit of a leopard print overload but in my opinion there's no such thing - a leopard ring, top, scarf and belt has to be nothing other than the perfect balance ;) Bought this cardigan last year and really love it. I always forget that it's in there, behind all the clutter in my wardrobe, just waiting to come out and display it's undeniable charm and good looks! Plum and leopard print have to be one of my favourite combinations at the moment.
Hope you're all having a good week, and are looking forward to all the festivities this weekend will bring!

Clothes Show Live 2011

I had the pleasure of going to the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham today, and although I didn't have many photo opportunities (the clothes distracted me) I thought I would share with you a few that I did manage to take whilst waiting for my friend to get her makeup done by the Benefit makeup artists, subsequently making us (fashionably) late for the live catwalk! For those of you who haven't heard of/attended the Clothes Show, picture rows and rows of stalls selling clothing, makeup and accessories, a few hundred girls in heels hoping to be spotted by model scouts and the odd sales person telling you about their latest killer deal through a gramophone, and you pretty much have the event in a nutshell!
Unlike when I went to the Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model Live Tour last month with a press pass, I was there on a school trip so unfortunately was slightly limited by time, however enjoyed myself nonetheless. I didn't make many purchases as it is coming up to Christmas and I am yet to buy my family their presents (panic) however I couldn't resist the Models Own stand, where you could choose three products of your choice and then receive a mix of twelve other Models Own products for ten pounds. I chose three nail varnishes which I was so chuffed with, as usually three Models Own polishes would come to fifteen pounds - the extra things were just a bit of a bonus; I may do a little review post soon to show you properly. Also on offer were bags full of Rimmel or Barry M products for ten pounds, Illamasqua products for a fiver, and all sorts of other tantalizing deals  - it took a lot of control for me to not get sucked in! I got a few other goodie bags and freebies (can't resist a freebie) but nothing to write home about, and have definitely decided that if I get the chance to go again next year I will save up and make sure I have plenty of money to spend so that I can make the most of the endless shopping opportunities available!
The live catwalk was amazing, and we got the chance to see Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model winner Jade tearing it up again (saw her previously at the BINTM Live tour which I posted about on my previous blog), BB from TV show Dirty Sexy Things and Kirk from TOWIE to name drop a few! Hosted by George Lamb and stylist Grace Woodward, the show was a combination of stunning models and supremely talented (and supremely good looking) dancers, all rolled into one big spray tanned eight pack extremely enjoyable performance, and for me this was the highlight of the day.
If any of you get the opportunity to go the Clothes Show next year I would definitely recommend it, just make sure you take plenty of cash so you can take advantage of the deals! A quick thank you to all of you who have followed Fashion Junkie, and don't forget to enter my giveaway where you can win £35 worth of amazingness from ELF; details on how to enter are here.
